OVERVIEW:
wIconVerify is a companion utility to wIconify. Under low-memory
conditions, wIconify may not be able to iconify or restore windows
properly, so windows may not reappear even though their icons are removed,
and windows may not disappear even though their icons are displayed.
wIconVerify can be used to resynchronize wIconify with the current state of
the display.
HOW TO USE WICONVERIFY:
To use wIconVerify, simply issue the command:
1> wIconVerify
The program will look through every window on every screen to make sure that
the iconified ones are behind the wIconify backdrop window and the
uniconified windows are in front of it. If any iconified windows are in
front, they will be restored, and if any uniconified ones are behind, they
will be iconified (we could have opted to move the windows, but since this
would require more memory, and low memory was probably the problem inthe
first place, this seemed the safest choice).
You can also specify a specific screen, as in
1> wIconVerify "Workbench"
which will verify the window on the Workbench screen only. You need not
specify the complete name, only enough to distinguish it from other
screens. Upper and lower case letters are not distinguished, so you could
also have specified WICONVERIFY "WORKBENCH". If the name includes blanks,
you must place it in quotation marks, but otherwise you need not use
quotation marks. If you do not specify a name, all the screens are checked.
